Mind  | How to find motivation at work in the new year even at the same job

Don’t let the ‘work in the new year’ line throw you.  Bottom line, it is important to be proactive in our communication with leadership to enhance professional development. By initiating regular one-on-one meetings with supervisors or other leaders focused on your growth, you can gain valuable insights and guidance. This approach not only fosters personal advancement but also strengthens your connection to your work, leading to increased motivation and job satisfaction.

Body  | Research: Setbacks Can Actually Boost Your Career

Examining the long-term effects of early-career setbacks on scientists, they found that individuals who narrowly missed receiving NIH grants early in their careers often outperformed their counterparts who received grants, in terms of the impact of their subsequent publications. The point is, early setbacks can serve as catalysts for greater perseverance and success.  This is how we should view professional setbacks: not as dead ends but as opportunities to build resilience and drive, potentially leading to greater achievements in the future.  God’s intention for our lives––work or otherwise––is for our benefit, and it may mean taking a step or two forward, and seemingly, a few steps back.

SoulLiving Purposefully

Living with purpose involves making daily decisions to effectively manage the resources God has entrusted to us, with the ultimate aim of glorifying Him. This entails renewing our commitment each day to love God and others, utilizing our unique gifts, and being good stewards of our mind, body, time, and finances. Develop a routine that nurtures physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being, that enables us to offer our best in service to God and others.
