I listen to Pandora. With commercials. Those two things = a clear sign you’re old.
They are currently playing an ad for a text/chat-therapy company. The ad begins with a line stating that life doesn’t come with a helpful manual on how to handle the stress, pressures, and challenges we face.
It made me a little sad and a little mad. Because it just so happens, there IS a ‘manual’ for life.
I’m sad because people are missing out on all that God has revealed about living this life in the Bible, and mad because of the intentionality and effort in making sure people miss out on all that God reveals about living this life in the Bible.
Reality is made clear (addressing both external challenges like relationships, suffering, and injustice, and internal struggles such as sin, fear, anxiety, and doubt) when we finally choose to actually read the ‘manual’.
