Q/Q: the greatest of man’s powers

A quote and a question is a simple approach to thinking more deeply about the thoughts, ideas, and advice from authors, historical figures, and leaders.

Quote: “The greatness of a man’s powers is the measure of his surrender.” – William Booth

Question: True strength and impact are not found in self-reliance or control, but in one’s willingness to fully surrender—to God, to a purpose greater than oneself, or to a calling. Booth, as the founder of The Salvation Army, likely meant that the more someone yields their own will, ambitions, and desires to God, the more they can be used for meaningful, lasting influence.  How can you shift your focus from personal ambition to faithful obedience?  Instead of striving to achieve success through sheer effort alone, how can you trust God’s guidance, seek His wisdom in decisions, and serve others selflessly?
